Ten Unite! students have participated in the drafting of 89 recommendations that the European Students' Assembly has shared as policy proposals at the Conference on the Future of Europe.

These recommendations have now been published in the platform of the Conference of the Future of Europe and will serve to make student voices heard in the European Union. The European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission have committed to listen to Europeans and to follow up, within their sphere of competences, on the recommendations made. This ESA position paper reflects the students’ determination to be heard and to have a concrete impact on their future that could lead to a political response from the European institutions. It is also the wish of the Unite! community that these policy proposals are largely broadcasted and studied by the largest number of EU decision makers and stakeholders.

The European Student Assembly (ESA) is a student grassroots initiative that emerged in the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe, launched jointly by the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council. Its first session brought together 275 student representatives from 38 different European university alliances, who were divided in 10 panels to discuss their position within each of the thematic sub-groups related to current European challenges: democratic engagement, a common agricultural policy, foreign policy, climate refugees, challenges in cybersecurity, social media, education, healthcare, digitalisation.

The recommendations of each subgroup were then submitted to the vote at the ESA’s plenary assembly, resulting in a common position paper. This position paper with the definite policy proposals has been published on the digital platform of the Conference on the Future of Europe as the plenary of the Conference is now gathering to discuss ideas submitted by European citizens.

Let's spread our students’ demands and contribute to shaping the future of Europe!

To do so you can reach your EU policy makers to make Students’ voices heard.
