Alberto Godio is a professor in Applied Geophysics at Politecnico di Torino and a researcher with a Master of Science in Mining Engineering (1988) and a PhD in Georesource Engineering (1993). His research primarily focuses on the application of geophysical methods for geothermal exploration, as well as monitoring and characterizing glacial and periglacial environments. He has contributed to the development of algorithms for processing electrical and electromagnetic geophysical data.
He has coordinated several national and international projects on the development of geophysical methods for monitoring and characterizing polluted soils and in glaciological studies. Since 2018, he has been responsible for the Interdepartmental Center of Photonics, focusing on developing sensors for geoscience applications.
He has held roles in academic administration, serving as the Rector Delegate for International Mobility from 2015 to 2018, and since 2018, he has been the Rector’s Advisor for Student Mobility and Erasmus+ projects. Additionally, he is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Geophysics since 2019.
