He joined the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC) in 1984, where he serves as full Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Dept. of Chemical Engineering. His research interests are in the area of molecular engineering. He has served as associate dean for international relations at the Barcelona School of Engineering (1999-2002). Vice-rector of research, doctoral studies and international relations (2002-2006) and vice-rector for International Policy (2017-2021). After being Rector’s Delegate for Unite! (2022), presently, he serves as KLO as well as associate dean for international relations at the Barcelona School of Engineering.
