Konrad Löbcke is part of the Unite! Secretariat based at TU Darmstadt. Konrad’s tasks include overseeing and initiating R&I-related activities in Unite! as well as managing the Unite! Seed Fund (including consultations for applicants). He is also involved in Unite! community 7 on doctoral education and in the Unite!Widening project for strengthening the R&I dimension of the alliance.

Konrad’s background is in the humanities. From 2011 to 2017, he studied Latin philology and English/American studies at the universities of Rostock, Germany, and Manchester, UK. He worked as a research assistant in the Ancient History department of the University of Mainz. He completed his PhD in the field of Latin philology in 2023. His work, including a research stay at the University of Glasgow, UK, focused on the ancient narrative Satyrica by the Roman author Petronius. Other relevant fields include ancient comedy, narratology, and gender studies.

In July 2022, Konrad started working in the EU Office of TU Darmstadt, advising researchers on European funding opportunities (mostly Horizon Europe, pillar II). He became gradually involved in the research activities of Unite! – mostly in the previous Unite.H2020 project – and started his position as Unite! R&I coordinator in July 2023.
