Pedro Almeida is the Deputy Key Liaison Officer for Unite! at the University of Lisbon. He supervises the implementation of alliance goals at ULisboa, and ensures the collaboration between ULisboa and Unite! partner universities. He’s also a Member of the Board of Directors at Faculty of Sciences at University of Lisbon since 2018. He got a Master and a Ph.D. in Physics Applied to Nuclear Medicine (PET and SPECT). In 1999 Pedro Almeida became Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Lisbon where he is now Assistant Professor with Habilitation (since 2014).
During this period he has supervised around 50 Master's Thesis and more than 10 Ph.D. thesis. He has also been engaged in research projects and contracts in Medical Imaging worth around 10 million euros. He is currently member of the board of advisors of a company devoted to developing electronics for the worldwide medical imaging market (PETsys Electronics, S.A.). Pedro Almeida also holds Medical Physics and Radiation Protection Expert Accreditations by the Portuguese Health Authorities (ACSS) and the Portuguese Ministry of Health.
