Renata Krzyżyńska is a full professor in the field of engineering and technological sciences, in the discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining, and Energy. She also serves as a member of the University Council and as Vice Rector for Research and Innovation.
Her scientific interests focus on the processes of removing pollutants from emissions, exploring new techniques for their purification and investigating the mechanisms of behavior of various pollutants, including mercury, in the context of different types of flue gases and purification installations. Additionally, she studies the thermochemical processing of waste, such as tires, municipal waste, and sewage sludge. Her work is centered on sustainably generating energy, with care for the environment and human health.
She implements research projects in international collaboration with many institutions. In 2013, she participated in the prestigious Top 500 Innovators program at Stanford University. Since 2021, she has been co-creating the Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar at Wrocław University of Science and Technology (ISN PWr).
