Grenoble INP – UGA
Vivien Quéma earned an engineering degree in Telecommunications in 2002 from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, now known as Grenoble INP – UGA. He then completed a PhD in Computer Science at Grenoble INP – UGA (2002–2005) and undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rome “La Sapienza.”
In 2006, he joined the CNRS as a Research Fellow (Chargé de Recherche). He obtained his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) in 2010 and was appointed Professor at Grenoble INP – Ensimag (École Nationale Supérieure d’Informatique et de Mathématiques Appliquées) in 2011.
From 2016 to 2018, Vivien Quéma served as Executive Director for Education within the IDEX “Université Grenoble Alpes, Université de l’Innovation” project. In 2019, he was named a Junior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF), a distinction recognising his scientific excellence and enabling him to dedicate more time to research.
In June 2022, he became Director of Grenoble INP – Ensimag, UGA, where he led a major redesign of the academic curriculum to prepare responsible engineers capable of addressing the challenges of digital transformation and environmental transition. In February 2024, Vivien Quéma was elected Rector of Grenoble INP – UGA for a four-year term.
