How can I as a researcher benefit from Unite!

Unite! can act as a gateway to finding research partners, through matchmaking events and other activities. Through Unite! you can also get access to shared research facilities.  

Does Unite! focus on any particular subject areas?

Unite! focuses on eight subject areas, which are sustainable energy, artificial intelligence, industry 4.0, entrepreneurship, sustainable cities and water, engineering biology, space and cybersecurity. 

What kind of research infrastructures are available through Unite!?

Unite! arranges access to shared research facilities among partners, enabling researchers to use state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories. This includes high-performance computing platforms, specialised laboratories, virtual reality tools, and specialised equipment.  

How do I get more information about the infrastructure?

There is an online research infrastructure catalogue (Agora) that provides detailed information on each facility, including a concise description, a link to the respective website, contact e-mail addresses, availability of technical personnel for external user assistance, and whether it has an online booking system. Enquire about access to individual research facilities.

Can I find project partners through Unite!?

Unite!’s platform Agora acts as a central noticeboard, connecting researchers with opportunities for collaboration, project consortia, and seed funding. Researchers can browse and apply for relevant opportunities, expanding their network and securing support for their research endeavours. Unite! also organises matchmaking events for researchers, especially early career researchers. The matchmaking events are announced on the Unite! website.  

Can I apply for funding for research projects through Unite!?

Unite! helps you find partners for your research projects but does not provide funding for research.  

How does Unite! support open science and innovation?

Unite! has published a practical guide for researchers, R&I support services, and university managers to transition to open science. This handbook reveals the best open science and innovation practices from Unite! research teams, gives guidelines for the adoption of these practices and shapes a new governance model for the management of open science and innovation in universities.  Download the Handbook here
