The IDEM project aims to ensure and facilitate the full participation of underserved students in mobility programmes. Recognising individual needs, IDEM provides concrete solutions and resources, especially for less visible groups facing specific challenges.
The project works to enhance student mobility across European universities by addressing structural barriers that deter participation in programmes like Erasmus+, while it places the student point of view at the core. Targeting the goal of 50% mobility in European university alliances, IDEM focuses on equalising opportunities for all students, regardless of their challenges. By integrating student experiences throughout the project, IDEM strives to design a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable mobility framework aligned with the Erasmus Charter and EU priorities.
The overall success of Unite!IDEM project will be supported by the development and achievement of the specific objectives:
- Mobility model: To create a flexible mobility model for students of diverse backgrounds, streamlining procedures to accommodate various mobility formats (long, short, and blended).
Inclusion training: To equip university staff with tools to promote inclusive communication and respectful environments within European student mobility.
- Bootcamps: To boost engagement of underrepresented and underserved students in mobility programs to strengthen community and empowerment.
Toolkit: To compile best practices and guidelines to enhance universities' approaches to diversity and inclusion.

IDEM places student participation at its core. It was to ensure equal opportunities for all students in European mobility programs, addressing quantitative and qualitative imbalances.
