Erasmus+ 2026: Call for European university alliances

The European Commission has officially opened the Erasmus+ 2026 call for European Universities, following the adoption of the Erasmus+ 2026 Annual Work Programme.

With a total budget of EUR 145.6 million, the call provides two years of financial support for consortia of higher education institutions engaged in existing transnational cooperation, in line with the strategic implementation of the European Universities Initiative. This funding aims to bridge the period until the start of the next EU multiannual financial framework in 2028.

The call is open to alliances previously funded under the Erasmus+ 2022 call, such as Unite!, but is not limited to them. Its goal is to allow existing alliances to build on the institutional cooperation achieved so far and continue implementing their long-term strategies, focusing on tangible activities that can be prioritised, scaled up, mainstreamed, and expanded across partner institutions, benefiting more students and staff.

Applications opened on 18 November 2025 and will close on 4 March 2026
