One year, and two calls after the European Universities Initiative kicked-off, the 41 rectors of the Alliances join forces in a webinar organised by the European Commission on 4th November. After an official welcoming by Themis Christophidou, Director-General for Education, Youth Sport and Culture (DG EAC) in the European Commission, 3 first-call rectors, among which we find UNITE!'s president Tanja Brühl, were invited to share their testimonials of this first exciting year.
In a subsequent webinar session, 279 rectors from all 41 European University Alliances that received funding in the first and second call will come together. The rectors will discuss the transformational potential of European Universities, the support of the EU Member States for the initiative as well as further discuss the important issue of student involvement in the development process of the projects.
In parallel to the rectors' meeting, 7 student representatives from each UNITE! partner university will meet other alliances' representatives to discuss student engagement, shared goals and good practices in a Student Session. For this matter, designated student representatives who participated in the Student Session will share the students’ perspective and recommendations with the plenary.
