Get to know the essentials of Human-centered Machine Learning, in this practical and innovative bachelor's level summer course
This Unite! Human-Centered Machine Learning summer course, takes place from the 8th until the 19th of August, in a face to face format at Aalto University campus, during Aalto University Summer School. The course is open and free of charge for all Unite! students at a bachelor’s level,  who will receive 3 ECTS upon the successful completion of the course.

Human-Centered Machine Learningis an innovative and hands-on bachelor's level course on the main components and combinations of current machine learning systems.The two-week course will teach you some of the most widely used machine learning (ML) techniques. The focus will be on human-centered applications of ML methods that require high levels of privacy protection and transparency. The course is taught by Assistant professor Alex Jung from Aalto University,  professor Cecilo Angulo from Universitat Politècnica De Catalunya · Barcelona Tech and Assistant professor Luca Vassio from Politecnico di Torino.

The amount of data in the world is increasing exponentially. For the future, machine learning models and other algorithms are needed to make use of all the data constantly generated. AI and Machine learning are the most powerful tools that organisations are using today to make informed decisions, attract new customers and find new sources of revenue.

Participating in the course Human-Centered Machine Learning in the summer gives students an excellent opportunity to enjoy Finland at its best. The course has a limited number of places.

Special application requirements
  • Being able to program a 'Hello world' in Python 
  • Familiarity with processing data in the form of numeric arrays (such as vectors or matrices)
