Núria Garrido is a UPC professor and researcher, and currently also the Vicepresident of UPC Alumni. Within Unite! she also works in TF6 (Mobility for all – Students) as part of the Internships workgroup. What she likes the most about her job is being with her students, as she likes to think that she can have a positive impact in their life. When she is not working, she loves to spend time with her family and friends. She's happy having dinner with them talking about anything: about life, laughing, dancing or even crying if it is necessary. For her, relationships with the people in her environment are the most important.
What future Unite! Project are you particularly excited about and why do you think it is important for Unite!’s strategy?
Unite! Alliance Universities also acknowledge the growing contribution of researchers' performance towards a more inclusive, diverse, green, and digital society and towards the achievement of the SDG. Therefore, we are willing to promote the mobility of our students through the deployment of the “Unite! Internships” scheme/framework. The Unite! Internships aim to enhance and complement the students’ academic knowledge, improve their skills, and therefore facilitate their employability. Moreover, the added value of Unite! Internship will be the inclusion of soft skills training as an integral part of the training experience.
What is happening in your TF? Anything interesting to share with the Unite! community?
- Virtual Exchange Concept courses: a catalogue has been created with different course proposals
- Unite! Internships: the principles of a Unite! Internships have been agreed and a pilot experience will be carried out this year.
- Open badge system: we are working on an open badge system to certify the international activities of our students.
- Unite! summer schools: criteria for Unite! Joint Summers School courses have been agreed
From your point of view, what is the advantage of working or studying at a Unite! university? What do you think is special about the Unite! alliance?

More information about the task forces she is involved in:
The task force "Mobility4All Students" within TF6 works on the backbone of the Unite! alliance, which is the creation of a transnational multi-campus in which mobility at all levels, both horizontally and vertically, for all is a reality. This task force's main mission is to build a tight, well structured and sustainable “mobility for all” environment.
