Unite! for the cities of the future
The project “Unite! within the EU Cities Mission” funded by the Unite! Seed Fund programme, connects the potential of leading European technical universities (Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Université Grenoble Alpes, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and Politecnico di Torino) with the experience of local governments and institutional partners.
The initiative is part of the ambitious EU Cities Mission, which aims to support European cities in achieving climate neutrality. Among the 112 selected cities, as many as seven belong to the Unite! alliance, confirming their significant role in the transformation process.
A key element of the Seed Fund–supported project is the establishment of an international task force bringing together universities, representatives of local authorities, and partners from the smart city and climate sectors. Its objective is to develop ideas for joint research and innovation directions related to sustainable and smart cities. These efforts will focus on areas such as climate change, modern energy systems, urban mobility, urban planning, and digital technologies supporting urban transformation.
