Unite! Hiking & Walking Club: Step by Step Towards a Common Goal
Members of the Unite! Hiking & Walking Club take part in virtual walks between each Unite! Dialogue, covering the distance between host cities.
The hikers come from different parts of Europe and do not walk together in person. Instead, each participant logs their kilometers in the Strava app while walking in their own surroundings. They have already walked nearly 4,000 kilometers, and they are not slowing down. After completing the route Wrocław-Graz-Darmstadt-Barcelona, they are now setting out on the next stage—from Barcelona to Helsinki.
“Is there anything more exciting than hiking in the Alps, walking along the coast, or exploring your favorite city? Sharing these experiences with the Unite! community makes it even better. In our Unite! Hiking & Walking group, we exchange route tips, share beautiful landscapes, and motivate each other to reach our common goal"
Jakub Żołnierczyk from Wrocław Tech highlights how shared challenges encourage physical activity, bringing immediate benefits such as better well-being:
“If you work at a desk, there’s nothing better than physical activity. Before, during, or after work—find a way to move. Start with small changes that can be easily included in your daily routine. Choose a longer walking route to work or school, pick up the pace, or take the stairs instead of the elevator.”
