As a Program Assistant to join the Summer School team in Aalto University

At Unite! we are looking for a Program Assistant to join the Summer School team this summer. In this position, you will work in an international academic environment to make the summer school’s Human-Centred Machine Learning course participants’ experience at Aalto unforgettable. You will also work in the Unite! “Joint Programmes: Embedding Virtual Exchange” project, where you will aid in the creation of digital content for the project website and online toolbox.

This position is open for students from Unite! Universities (Technische Universität Darmstadt, Aalto University, Grenoble INP, Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, Politecnico di Torino, Universidade de Lisboa, and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). 

As a Program Assistant, you get to work in a variety of different tasks, from the organisation of social gatherings for visiting summer school students, to collaboration with our international partners. The role is well suited for someone who can take on different projects, both individually and as a part of a team.
The position is full-time and fixed-term between 1/6.- 31/8.2022. You will work on the Otaniemi campus in Espoo, Finland. The pre-tax salary is 2100€ / month (bachelor’s level students) or 2200€ / month (master’slevel students).

The key tasks include:
  • Creating, editing, and uploading content for the website
  • Data management
  • Research
  • Project coordination and communications work
  • Development of program concepts
  • Customer service and multimedia communications

What we value:
  • Excellent written communication skills in English.
  • Proactive attitude and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in digital tools such as WordPress Dashboard, Microsoft Office 365 (especially Teams), Zoom, and Google Drive.
  • Familiarity with basic IT equipment (online class setup) is considered a plus.
  • Previous experience in event management is considered an asset but not required.
  • Good organization skills.
