What future Unite! project are you particularly excited about and why do you think it is important for Unite!'s strategy?

I'm excited about the Unite! seed fund initiative, as it encourages Unite! researchers to start working jointly. This is very important, because every joint activity fills Unite! with life and makes it more and more a united European university/campus.

What is happening in your working group? Anything interesting to share with the Unite! community?

Together with colleagues from TU Darmstadt, Politecnico di Torino and Wroclaw Tech, I have started a teaching and research initiative on safety of underground transport infrastructure. On the one hand, we developed a joint summer school on that topic and, on the other hand, we will do some full scale fire tests on battery electric vehicles (BEVs). We are still looking for more partners. So anyone else interested in this initiative is welcome to join!

From your point of view, what is the advantage of working or studying at a Unite! university? What do you think is special about the Unite! alliance?

Unite! provides me with the platform to engage with dynamic colleagues throughout Europe to innovate and improve education for all. This platform provides huge opportunities in terms of collaboration and research in higher education development.

The expert community focused on Doctoral Education for Research and Innovation and Society, generates a framework of opportunities for joint doctoral education to engage with R&I and society, thanks to the creation of a Unite! Doctoral School framework. Moreover, it is inherently linked through the creation of thematic communities of academics and staff, and capacity building through professional training and extends also into Life Long Learning (LLL).
